What is this?

Any idea what this is? The pharmacy said it’s “chub rub” but my daughter hasn’t got a “fat” neck or chin. She doesn’t dribble. She doesn’t get wet on her neck as she’s always got a bib or muslin cloth under her chin when she’s drinks her milk or water which is instantly taken off once she’s finished.

It started off with dry skin like eczema but it’s slowly getting worse and spreading as well as reacting to creams which makes it worse. It almost looks like a burn currently that spread to her shoulders and there’s 2 splodges on her rib cage and also on her knees with little spots in it (although I don’t know if it’s not from her sleeping on her tummy but I’ve never seen it on her knees before).

Should I call 111 or wait till the morning for the GP?

It looks like an allergic reaction. Has she eaten one of the common allergens recently just before this?

Nope she’s not allergic to anything apart from milk and egg. She’s had this for about 2 weeks now x

Looks and sounds like eczema
Not every cream will work for every baby though so you can go through alot of creams to find one that helps
But it could be down to hayfever, another allergies ( they aren't always common allergies my girls allergic to milk, eggs, pork barley and corn)
Could even be where the weather keeps changing
Have you tried using an antihistamine to see if it helps to settle?
Also have you attempted either egg or milk ladder recently as that could of caused it also

We ended up in out of hours last night at 2am and the doctor said it looks viral and her tonsils are very swollen plus she’s got an awful cough for the last 3 weeks. He didn’t mention eczema or allergies either. Saying that though he was very rude.

And no we haven’t attempted either yet we’ve been given the all clear to do the milk ladder first once that rash/patch has cleared up. I’m very careful not to give her anything with milk or eggs in and she’s been tested for allergies and they all came back negative x
