Embryo accumulation for PGT-A
Hello,
I just completed my IVF ICSI cycle. Out of 11 eggs collected, 9 were mature and 7 fertilized, resulting in 3 quality B embryos that reached the blastocyst stage. A biopsy sample has been taken today for PGT-A, and all three embryos have been frozen.
Now, I need to decide whether to analyze these embryos now or undergo another stimulation cycle to accumulate more embryos before proceeding with PGT-A. At my age (37), approximately 40–50% of embryos tend to be chromosomally normal, so I might end up with roughly one euploid embryo from this cycle.
On one hand, proceeding with the current embryos means a quicker turnaround, but there’s a significant risk that none will be euploid, which could mean starting over at an extra cost. On the other hand, accumulating more embryos through another round of stimulation is more economical (saving about 3000 €) compared to the potential extra costs of a failed cycle, and it might improve the chances of having at least one euploid embryo. However, it also requires additional physical and emotional investment.
What would you do in this situation? Any comments/advice are highly appreciated.

We did a second cycle whilst our first cycle of blasts went off for PGT-A & M testing. Doing the additional cycle resulted in more embryos so it was very worth it. Yes it's more time/emotion/physical (and maybe financial) investment but worth it for more opportunities from a bigger embryo pool
I didn’t do it on the first round resulting in a failed cycle so need to start all over now. I’m also 37. Would definitely try and accumulate more embryos.
I had the same results with 3 embryos at 37 y/o. Only 1 was PGT-A normal. I was advised to do another round or mock cycle before transferring. We decided to do the transfer of the 1 we had because we were paying Out of pocket. We transferred on 12/14/23. That 1 embryo is my handsome little dude. I am rocking him to sleep right now. He is going to be 8 months on the 1st.
I would transfer and do another round of needed. Most people will tell you to do another round because of your age though.
Thank you all for your responses. I agree with you and I was ready to tell my doctor that we were ready for another cycle of IVF to accumulate more embryos. However, she has recommended us to forget about the new cycle for now and test these three first.
I am a bit confused now on what to do. She is the professional here and knows best, but I thought the plan would be to do everything we could to increase our chances. On the other hand, it is true that we only need one good embryo and going through another round of stimulation is tough (it would be my third overall). Ahhh so difficult!

I had a different situation... my IVF cycle only resulted in 1 embryo making it to day 5, so we opted out of the testing and just did the freeze to treat my endo and then a FET. Transfered 3 months later and he'll be 5 in July
