Has anyone experienced it with a baby / toddler? My 2 year old has had 2 rounds of hydrocortisone on her legs. Most recent was 1 dose every day for 7 days, followed by 1 dose every 2 days for 7 days (ie every other day) followed by 1 dose every 3 days for a week. Does that sound like too long? We are 2 days after her final dose and the flare up is far more severe than when we started - red raised angry itchy and spread further than the initial patches were! Any advice hugely appreciated - thank you

Did the hydrocortisone ever clear up the eczema completely or at all? My son was given hydrocortisone too but it didn’t work for him. Triamincilone helped a little but also didn’t clear it up completely so it came back right away worse. He finally was given mometsone and that completely cleared it and it never came back like that again. Everyone is different but hydrocortisone doesn’t work for all eczema cases. In my experience I found that after a few days of use if you don’t see a big improvement it’s not going to work.

I went through tsw in 2021. I'd say your little one is most likely not going to be in withdrawal, but once you've finished this step down, I wouldn't be touching them again. There is a chance they have become addicted, so once the steroids stop, it comes straight back. I'd be looking into the root cause, be that food/environmental/gut.
Do you have any pictures of their wrists/arms, that's usually a give away sign for TSW
ps we have done so many things to try to find out the cause / remove irritants:
-surcare detergent
-60 degree washes with extra rinse
-filter for bath water
-luke warm short baths with oilatum
-only wears cotton or merino
-tried dairy free for 6 weeks with no improvement
-tried oat free
-don’t put central heating on when sleeping
-every natural remedy / cream under the sun
-moisturise her every nappy change
Have I missed any obvious ones I could try? We are at a loss, I just don’t know why she’s getting these awful flare ups! Xxx

I've done most of what you've done and no change to flares as well. However I think my boy flares when his immune system is put under stress, eg all vaccines, teething, having a cold, ?travelling... and I can't change these things just hoping he'll outgrow it....
He flares while on steroids as well...
