Pregnancy hives

Had a baby Tuesday. Today noticed hives/rash on my stomach. Super itchy. Not sure what’s causing it? Anyone experience this? I didn’t with my first. Internet says it can be hormonal?

So sorry to hear you’re going through that! I went through that the last two weeks of mg pregnancy and for a bit after birth. Rash/hives that were so itchy and were exclusively on my feet and hands. GP, obstetrician and midwives all said it was hormonal and got prescribed steroid cream, which helped. Try some moisturising cream too? I find Aveeno with anti-colloidal properties helped. Good luck!

I had a rash on my stomach and it turns out it was from the belly band that the doctors put on me. It was irritating my skin & I didn’t know it.

Yep - I’ve got this in trimester one and likely a result of all the IVF meds I’m taking and therefore hormones. My doc recommended to keep it moisturised and I also found germalena reduces the itch x

Prolactin hives. They'll go away in time. For me, I think it was when my supply regulated.

Its called PUPPPs. I got it after having my son and then at the beginning of the pregnancy with my daughter. I used triamcinolone cream for the itch. Sorry you're going through it

that’s what I thought it was so I stopped wearing it. But it’s been 24hr so still waiting to see if it changes anything.

Ohh I forgot to say my dermatologist told me this rash is most common to be where stretch marks are after pregnancy on the belly and hips

when did it go away for you?

After using the triamcinolone cream it took about a week. I had the rash for about a week and just happened to be at my derms office for a checkup and I showed it to her. She said it's more common to have it during pregnancy but that it sometimes can come on shortly after birth. If you can't get triamcinolone, you can try extra strength hydrocortisone cream which is over the counter. It should help stop the itch and the rash will go away.
