BABY & CONCERT

Hi mamas there is a concert next month and I really want to go but I also don’t want to leave my baby 😭😭 I was thinking of taking her with me (she’ll be five months) and buying her one of the noise canceling headphones

I will be going with my mom and dad so I’ll have help but just wondering if anyone has done this with their baby as well.

Might just be me but that doesn’t seem worth the risk to damage your infants bearing….
Edit- a concert is a lot louder than going to the movies….

Yes I have those for my baby. She’s been too the movies, basketball games and now will be track meets. Take your baby as long as you have the headphones that’s all that matters.’

I took my daughter to the movies at 3 months just made sure she had hers on. My daughter never cries or fussy so I knew she’d b ok without disturbing people

Depends on the concert imo. The beat also courses through your body. I wouldn’t take my baby to an upbeat, rock, or pop concert. Indie folk? Sure
Up to your discretion m

I have a pair for my son and we went to the racetrack. He didn’t seem at all bothered by the noise and even managed to fall asleep with them.

Personally I would probably have baby sit that one out. I've definitely used headphones to take my LO to a sports game but at a concert it's really just not the loudness, it's also the vibration of the bass. I can imagine it would be unsettling/uncomfortable for a young baby who doesn't understand the feeling.

I worked concerts through my whole pregnancy, and my baby has been to them. DEFINITELY use noise canceling headphones. I don't have a choice, or I probably wouldn't take her. Mine is 6 months. She LOVES it, though. She loves the vibration. We are behind the stage, so it's not as loud but still. I'd keep her away from speakers.

Aww! Sounds like so much fun. Just do research into the brand of headphones. A well vetted brand will tell you the decibel rating they will protect against. And if you can stand towards the back away from speakers and monitors that helps too. My husband is a touring musician and my daughter has been going to concerts since she was 6 months old. We are very strict about her wearing ear protection. Practice wearing them at home before the night of the concert. When you put them on, you can also give baby a toy in each hand (we used maracas) so that they are distracted and dont try to take them off haha. A baby carrier or wrap is helpful too so you can dance and baby will feel safe snuggled up to you

We took baby to Chinese new year lunch at about 4 months and we used these and he was absolutely fine. Super unbothered.

I personally wouldn’t take my baby to a concert though. Anything could happen and not worth the risk.
