Dinners for after nursery

Hey ladies
What do you give your LOs after a day at nursery?
My boy has tea there at 3pm, but can be a bit hit and miss as to how much he eats and don’t think they’re the biggest portions anyway. And he is normally getting ready for bed about 6ish, so don’t want to give him anything too heavy.
Xxx

We sometimes give porridge with banana and peanut butter or weetabix or if he hasn’t ate much at all maybe something bigger like pasta x

when my daughter was going full time, she would have her meal at 3:30pm. We always offer whatever we are having for dinner at 5:30-6:30pm, bedtime routine starts 7pm.

Same as other meals but we don’t put pressure if she’s not hungry

Up until now we've tended to do him a bit of a picky tea because me and my husband tend to have our dinner after he's gone to bed. He has three meals (including a pudding at lunch time) and two snacks at nursery so we give him things like cheese and crackers with some fruit, egg muffins and some cucumber sticks etc. However, I think he's starting to need more so will probably move on to something a bit more substantial/bring our dinners forward (easier said than done when you work full time 🫤)

Our twins have tea at nursery at 3.30 and we give them a mini tea at 5.15 ish once home. This can be half a piece of toast each, half of a bagel, a brioche, crisps, fruit and/or yoghurt, depending on what they had at nursery. They will then have a mini rice cake and biscuit before bed. They no longer have milk, just water before bed. Bed is around 7.15 ish

it’s just meant to be a ‘tea’ to tidy them over till they get home, as some children can be there till 5-6 so it’s a long time to go from lunchtime with just a snack x
