Reflux?

My little boy is 3 weeks old and he’s started spitting up milk after most feeds or about 1/2 hours later. He also gets hiccups quite a lot and refuses to burp during/ after a bottle. He cries on the nappy mat and now I’m wondering if this is because he’s on his back? He doesn’t seem to be crying in any pain but he is very wriggly at night time. Do you mamas think this sounds like he has reflux? We have a tounge tie appointment next week so I’m hoping that helps too!

my 5 month old has recently started doing this as well. hes eating solids and at the point where he’s burping himself , but we still try to keep him upright to help him. he was spitting up a little and had bad gas during his 1st month. we switched his milk & that seemed to help , but now i’m not sure what it might be this time.

Yes it absolutely sounds like reflux. My baby boy had the same issues. To the point he couldn't sleep peacefully ever. It may seem like it will never end but it does eventually get better. Do whatever you think will make him comfortable and safe. Even the suggested stuff may not work right away. The esophagus has to get a little stronger which will result in being able to keep food down most of the time. It just takes a lot of time and patience! He will pull through. My messages are open 🫶🏻

You could try colic relief drop. I used Mylicon and it helps to relieve the gas issue for my baby. My sister in law used BioGaia and it works for her daughter too.

It does sound like reflux, if you don't already keeping him upright for at least 10/15 minutes after a feed can really help x

My son had exact same issue for first 3 months , we tried everything but nothing worked except one homeopathic gripe water . It gets better after 3 months once their tummy gets bigger . If he is gaining weight and active , do not worry much . My son slept on our lap for 2-3 months .
