I be checking myself with a mirror 😆 35 wks. Closed But I haven’t felt/experienced Braxton hicks yet. Should I be worried?
I went to triage for vomiting and dehydration followed by contractions. Because I was contracting the nurse did a check but she said I’m still closed but soft! I’ll be 37 weeks on Thursday. I also thought I’d be atleast a cm or 2 with all the pressure and contractions and how far I am
Hey Honey, contractions/braxton hicks after a cervical check are relatively normal at this stage. I’m 35 weeks and still closed. I usually have contractions after a cervical check or ultrasound.
@Jorgie-Anne I think she’s saying she had them prior to the check which is why they checked her out but yes I feel like with anything up there including paps and stuff there’s usually some cramping after which I always dislike 😭
@Natalia it's crazy! But she said baby is sitting very low on pelvis which probably is causing the pain/pressure! I'm so glad I was able to get checked today and have a mini ultrasound to see baby. Have you had any contractions since?
@Jorgie-Anne yeah, I meant prior to the check! I don't typically experience any pain or cramping after checks!
No thankfully, I’ve been upping my water and pedialyte intake like crazy and avoiding spicy/greasy food. But he’s been head down on my pelvis/cervix since 30-32 weeks haha
@Annika Thank you for clarifying! I wouldn’t worry too much since your cervix is closed. Is it possible that you might be dehydrated? Personally, I’m use to having Braxton hicks everyday, especially at night. But I have more whenever I forget to hydrate enough.
@Jorgie-Anne i have mine more at night too! I'm especially not worried now, thankfully! I drink at least a gallon every day!
36w1d // 1cm dilated
At my last dr appointment i was 36w and dilated to 1cm.
I’m currently 37 weeks and 3 days, been a larger 1cm dilated since last week. I go back in this Tuesday and i working be surprised if i dilated at least a little more because i have woken up with some contractions at night- just nothing consistent enough to go to the hospital yet! Baby boy keeps moving down into my pelvis though too!
The exact same thing happened to me today. Thought my Braxton hicks + baby’s movement meant i had to be closer to birth or even dilated… nope!
