Does anyone have advice as to gently sleep training?

Hey everyone! I just want any tips and tricks for sleep training my 4 month old. He slept his first night last night 9 total hours which I am super proud of him for, but it's been a week and when it comes to naps he just constantly wants to be carried and I've tried the self-soothe method but he just starts crying and I hate to see him that way, so I let him a little but then I rock him, let him be asleep and put him in the crib for the rest of the nap. I have been trying the moms on call but I figured to ask you all for advice since the book seems a lot easier said than done. I feel like a bad mom because I also want him to nap on me from time to time instead of the different methods but at the same time I just want his naps to be better and keep him calm.

I haven’t tried naps, I just do night time because it was hard for me to hear my baby cry at night and I couldn’t also do during the day lol. Nighttime was more important for me. However, i just want the share some hope, my baby’s naps naturally got longer when his wake windows were extended! So he started to nap longer now (he’s 7 months). Sharing this to say, it may just get better with time (if sleep training isn’t what you want to do) I know it’s hard to also hold for every nap…I did it since he was 8 weeks lol sometimes you want to do something for yourself other than hold for a nap.

Maybe give it time if that sounds better to you ❤️ but you know your baby best!

Thank you so much for your advice. I feel like nighttime is better to focus on rather than the nap situation lol. Sleep training is tough because I hate not being near him & hearing him flustered. But I will protist when he's older for sure ♥️

Naps are usually way harder than night time cause the “sleep pressure” is low during the day.

Health Visitor Home Visit

Hii, could anyone explain what the health visitor does on their home visit?

Also if anyone had a home birth, what the midwife home risk assessment involves?

I’ve got 3 home visits coming up in the next two weeks (health visitor, midwives and doula) and it’s making me nervous for some reason. I think having 3 just feels like a lot and a bit invasive if that makes sense!

Did you know this was a thing?

Didn’t know this existed! I’m actually not breastfeeding 2nd time round (though wish I did) after a bad experience with my 1st baby. But this is something I 100% needed 1st time round.

Fighting naps

Does anybody else feel like they spend all day trying to get baby to nap? I get tempted to give up as he must not be that tired but he is too cranky to play or do anything else!

How are we entertaining our babies

What toys does everyone have for their 7 month old?
Nothing is satisfying my little girl she's got blocks, rattles, playmats loads more. She would much rather hold my hands and walk all day but I cant physically do that and whenever I put her down to play she just wont, is this just a faze?

Any experience with different teats?

Hey Mamas

So my little girl is exclusively breastfed but she wont even take FRESHLY PUMP milk from the bottle. I had a whole 4oz that was going to waste and baby girl was just massanging her gums and smiling lol :/
Ive tried adding extra holes with a needle, the ol' switcheroo (BF first then switch ti bottle) but she's very keen and notices straight away.
Im currently using Nuby and Tommee silicone bottles, and I would like to try more softer, boob-like teats.

Id ideally like her to take a bottle so Dad can give me a REAL break yknow.

Has anyone had this same experience? Any teats one would recommend?
Thank you in advance!
