In the car..

What are we doing for our toddlers in the car.. I live in a rural area so we do a lot of commuting, usually in the car for at least 20 minutes when we go anywhere.. my son has always been good in the car but lately he’s been soooo messy with his snacks I think I’m going to cut back on car snacks. & it’s hard to keep him entertained with his toys. I try to rotate a book, something with noise, truck/tractor, etc every few days but after 5-10 minutes he throws or drops of them & is over it. What have you found works for your toddlers?? 😅🫣

Let them sit in the carseat and look at the window lol

I have a yoto player and he listens to stories

He also often falls asleep hahah

We'll sing together a lot. She has a busy book that she loves and we recently moved her farm animal book to the car - one of those that has buttons to make the animal noises. Worst case scenario, I'll put on Ms. Rachel over the car speakers 😅

My daughter does well in the car she has car toys but usually always grabs a toy from the house to bring on the car

@Marie he used to sleep in the car a lot. It’s been months since he has 😭😭

@Antionette haha that does usually work for 2 minutes!

@Candice yes I try to do a house toy.. it’s usually worse when we’re coming from somewhere other than home.. like leaving daycare 🫠

@Emily he loves the books with buttons to make noise. He’s tore apart a few nice books now too 🫠

Lol my MIL has the Eric Carle book that's paper instead of board and that was a goner on day 1 lol

Sometimes I just give her a baby wipe and ask her to wash her seat, hands, feet, etc. If I change what she’s washing every few minutes, it keeps it new😂

We got one of those draw and erase boards that my son loves! It keeps him occupied for like 15 minutes

Music 🎶 she loves to sing along. I keep a couple of books in the car but she only looks at them for 5 minutes before she starts singing lol
