Exercising after 25 weeks pregnant

I’ve been a consistent gym goer for years and was doing all my usual work outs up until about 3/4 weeks ago. I feel a lot more strain and had bad round ligerment pain since my bump has gotten bigger so I do worry when doing exercising. I can drop my weights but it feels so light. Recommendations on best exercises that people are doing? I’m debating swimming??

I've been doing a antenatal pilates class since about 12 weeks, I'm currently 24 weeks. I'm aiming to add in some swimming now as I was doing zumba but have stopped that.

Hey! I actually spoke to a PT about this as had the same issues. He suggested walking and swimming etc but if you want to do weights (which I did!) concentrating on upper body etc so you don’t feel the strain as much. He said listen to your body - if something doesn’t feel good don’t push it. So for me, that looks like no squats but I’m still doing lunges and other stuff. Hope that helps! I’m also finding I need to take more rest days. I used to gym 4/5 times a week and now I’m more like 2/3 with walks/gentle cycling/swimming in other days if I feel up to it.

Yoga, walking, swimming are all low impact. Or seek advice from a personal trainer who specialises in pre-natal fitness as they have lots of ideas about how to adapt exercises

I do pelvic Pilates and that helps with growing pains!

I’ve been doing the bump plan - it’s online Pilates & functional strength which has been great!
