Hey, we did us in an rv in november! She was 10 months, so that's quite a big difference. We struggled a bit because she was crawling but not walking yet, so she couldn't be mobile inside, but the ground outside was rarely suitable for crawling. You luckily won't have this problem! Do you know harvest hosts? This is what we did and it was amazing! You park on different very scenic properties for free and then you buy their product (like a bottle of wine if you're in a vineyard), this was truly amazing. Have you ever been in an rv in the us? They are a beast!! So powerful! I thought we'd take off when we turned it on. Where exactly are you going? Let me know if you have any questions! Re jet lag, ours didn't sleep on the plane, which was not very pleasant, but luckily we didn't have to deal with jetlag then as she crashed as soon as she hit the bed and slept through the night. Make sure to search in advance if you can park in a specific car park, many car parks do not permit rvs
I hit the character limit lol. If you are not planning to be in a camp every night, which we weren't, have a plan on where to dump and refill etc. Plan and organise as much as you can ahead, so you don't have to take your whole house to a shop in case you forget something 🥲 Bring warm pyjamas in case it's cold overnight, heating is loud and rubbish. Which rv are you renting? And which company? Just a heads up that we weren't able to secure her car seat on the bench. I'll see if there's anything else i can think of! We did san francisco to phoenix, so if you're doing a similar route i can answer more questions
@Nina thanks so so much! We will be going through Utah Colorado and Arizona. Renting a 23 feet sunseeker RV from road bear. The travel agency we booked through did confirm the RV has isofix adapters. I am a bit worried that is indeed the case or not as it does not look like it from the pictures. Did yours not have them then? What did you end up doing ? To be honest we have booked most of the campgrounds in either private ones or national park ones as we will be there during peak season. All very expensive, but since most of them have good cancellation policy k will have a look at harvest host, thanks so much for the tip! Very good to know for the cold too as it is currently -8 at night where we are doing our first stop…
We also did parts of Utah and Arizona, bryce, zion, page, monument valley, grand canyon, sedona, phoenix. We didn't have isofix adapters so I was sitting next to her. We managed to semi fixate it, but I once went to the front for a bit and she toppled over 😬 good to hear you have adapters though! We found that the coldest part was the main bed, so I think your best bet is sleeping with the baby on the upper bed above driver seat if you have it, it was much warmer there.
Hey! Just wanted to check in to see how you're getting on? 😊
I don’t have any tips but also have a 3 week RV trip booked in June. Canada for us :) if you don’t mind can you share anything on here after as would love to hear how you got on!
