Are they requiring an RBT? How old ?

ABA therapy is really good for kids with autism. One reason for most kids with autism having an undesirable behavior is because they are either frustrated or upset they can’t convey what is wrong, so it becomes a bit of a guessing game. Are they hungry, cold, hurt, ect. Also looking at what is happening before the hitting starts and then trying to avoid the problem. Also don’t use the phrase “we don’t hit.” Use phrases like “we use nice hands” ect. I second what Amanda says. Also, ABA is a little different now than it was before. You’ll hear a lot of ABA horror stories because in the past, ABA was very restrictive. The newer model keeps the same concepts but offer them in the least restrictive environment for your child. I would definitely look into ABA programs. Most commercial insurance will cover ABA

Try ABA therapy. My son matured and his behavior got much better while in ABA . give it a try. Won't hurt
