I’m planning on breast feeding and I’ve managed to collect 70ml of colostrum so far which I’m planning on taking some to the hospital when I give birth.
Should bring formula/ ready made bottles too just in case or will the colostrum be enough as I can always get someone to drop some in if needed
Also how much colostrum should I bring? Don’t want to bring it all just in case it doesn’t get stored properly etc

That’s a lot of colostrum, I wouldn’t bother bringing any formula!!

That colostrum is excellent! Take it with you, you might not need formula but we took a small bottle of ready made and did need it as Winnie was poorly and now we're combi feeding as my milk builds up

Colostrum should be plenty, just make sure you have it in freezer bags clearly labeled, as in the hospital with my first they had to store it for us. I'd probably bring 2-3 syringes, and have the others in a similarly labeled bag at home for backup
They also can provide formula if there are problems with feeding - they ask you to bring it if you are planning to formula feed from the start, as they don't have enough to provide for all who are choosing to formula feed

Hospital will have some formula if you need it as a back up 🥰

Wow that’s incredible for collection. I’ve had one drip so far 😂

That’s more than enough colostrum - amazing! Their belly’s are the size of a cherry at first so I don’t think you’ll need formula

same 😭🤣

girl i’ve got 0.7ml and that was EFFORT😭😂well done on getting so much!x

that’s still good! I’ve found I’m getting more each time I do it but I’ve been leaking since 16 weeks lol

Its allot!!! No need to formula at all. You should try breastfeeding and fresh hand expression if needed. The colostrum collected is just in case of extreems like seperation between mother and baby, sugar drops ect. Continue the breast stimulation soon after birth it is key to your supply with the hormonal signals.. here is our blog in this issue hope it will be helpfull https://mylee.life/blogs/mylee-blog/colostrum-harvesting-during-pregnancy
