Activities after naptime

What activities do you get up to with your almost 2 year old in the afternoons? We get out early everyday and will do some sort of activity until we come home and then they will nap until around 3:30pm, then we usually stay inside until bedtime especially if the weather is bad but I really struggle with keeping my LO entertained.

My LG also gets up around 3/3.30. We tend to spend up to half an hour in her room post nap reading books, then come downstairs for a small afternoon snack. If the weather is good, we walk to the local shop, or go to the park, or explore the garden. If it’s been raining but has stopped, we go for a puddle splashing walk. If it’s actively raining we do more books, or play dough/kinetic sand, or she helps me prep dinner, or that’s when she can have some screen time (as we eat around 5.15, so it’s not that much time between nap and dinner for us). She’s got a toy kitchen in our kitchen so she can pretend to cook along. Help me get washing in/out of the machine, help unload the dishwasher. Sometimes if we’re done with dinner early and it’s not a bath night we’ll do a pre bedtime walk, or maybe a cheeky trip to the pub as she loves being social, there’s usually a few dogs there. Or we have a video chat with family.

Local park, food shop, visit family, meal out occasionally. But mostly we play in the garden.

Snack, then walk or if the weather is bad, we read and play books or I get her in her toddler tower to help me make supper or bake a treat (she likes this a lot)

Or sometimes I get her to bounce on the bed to music while I fold and put away laundry lol
