Teething pain?

Please keep volume low as it’s loud. Has anyone’s baby cried this badly from teething pain? My little girl never normally cries at bedtime and I’ve just had 30 minutes of this, unable to calm her down. Have given nurofen in case.

Has your baby cried as bad as this? This seems extreme for teething from what people have said but my little girl is particularly difficult at the best of times 😔

Maybe once but not often

We had a period of around a month of nightly cries like this. We didn’t and still don’t know what’s causing this but think it’s either his eczema or teething.

It’s been happening on and off for three months now, but recently a lot less. He just got his first tooth as well so hopefully we get a break from that!

FYI from Google

Is Anbesol teething gel safe for babies?

Benzocaine, a local anesthetic (a drug that temporarily numbs), is the active ingredient in several nonprescription oral health care products, including Anbesol, Cepacol, Chloraseptic, HurriCaine, Orabase, Orajel, and Topex. These products should not be used for teething pain in children because they can be dangerous.

I don’t understand how it can legally be sold and marketed as something to use for babies if this is the case

Avatar

I’ve just done some research and the version sold for babies doesn’t contain Benzocaine, only the max strength adult one does, so Anbesol liquid is fine to use.
