Pre eclampsia?

I woke up this morning (28+4) with some swelling in my hands- nothing major but I’ve not had any swelling so far. So I was slightly concerned and decided to check my blood pressure just in case. It was 133/93 which is very high FOR ME. I usually have readings at home of like 97/65 for example and the dr it is usually more in the “normal” range, I.e 116/75
I decided I’d try to chill for a few and check it again 150/97 freaked tf out and went to OB ER, had only one high reading while there, trace protein in urine, normal blood lab values and baby looked good on NST.
Could this be the start of pre eclampsia/ gestational hypertension?? What do you ladies think?
ER doc chalked the high readings up to being anxiety induced… I have an already scheduled appt with my OB this Friday for glucose test and then Bi-weekly appts.
I have been so scared of developing pre eclampsia my whole pregnancy.

Wow! I don’t think I’ve met someone else with a lower blood pressure than me! From what I read there is a possibility but don’t think the worse until you know for sure!

In my personal opinion, that ER doctor should have done more being that you are pregnant, BP was really high, and you had some swelling. From what I have read Pre eclampsia is sudden and should be taken seriously. Doctors telling women they have anxiety every time we are concerned about something we notice that isn’t usually our norm needs to stop. It’s negligence on their behalf to not do more to rule out vs speculating that you’re just panicking.

I agree that symptoms need to stop being put off as anxiety. However after urine tests, serial blood pressure checks, blood work and a NST I’m not sure what else could have been done.

I also have swelling that started at 33 weeks which I am concerned is pre clampsia but my blood pressures are normal and no trace of proteins so they rule it as normal pregnancy swelling every check up . Either way keep a eye on it with doctor every week !!! 🙌🏽🙏🏾

The protein in the urine is concerning. Your doctor will probably have you collect a urine sample for 24 hours and analyze that. I would take your blood pressure every day from here on out on top of that to make sure you're on top of it. Worst case they put you on some medication and induce you early. Ive known a few people who had this and luckily all of them and their kids are fine so while I know that's scary, try not to freak out about it. Modern medicine is amazing!

If you don’t already, might be good to ask your OB about taking baby aspirin daily. I have a strong family history of high BP and preeclampsia (and typically show high BP at the dr’s), so they have me taking low dose aspirin and taking my BP every day. Definitely don’t discount your symptoms as “just anxiety”. It’s such an easy answer for doctors when they can’t explain things. Stay alert to your symptoms and advocate for yourself when you know things are not normal!

I have been taking it 3 times a day since this happened, thankfully no more high blood pressures!

Anyone else due 1st May?

I’m wondering whether I’ll have an April or May baby, thought she’d be late originally because she’s my first but I’ve had this weird feeling recently she’ll be early… if you’re in the same position what do you think?

Anxiety with the bump.

I’m 36 weeks pregnant and I’ve suddenly developed a massive anxiety around anyone standing behind me. My husband is annoying me so much because even though I’ve told him how it makes me feel, he’s continued doing stuff in our kitchen (that is tiny anyway) and sliding past me to grab things. I know the baby is safe even if I were to bump the bump a little but even the thought of it is still making extremely anxious. How do I cope with this feeling and is anyone else going through the same sort of thing?

Breathless and feeling like I need to be sitting constantly!

Has anyone else been feeling this way as they're getting closer to their due date?

I attempted to change our bedding this evening and had to call my husband for back up as I literally felt like my lungs were going to explode just trying to reach over to put the sheet on.

I'm huffing and puffing just getting my toddler into his pjs, and I was sat down! Like what is going on 😮‍💨🥲

Everything has been check ie bloods etc so I think it's just general pregnancy as I'm now 38 weeks. My bump feels like it weighs about 100lbs 😭
