In my personal opinion, that ER doctor should have done more being that you are pregnant, BP was really high, and you had some swelling. From what I have read Pre eclampsia is sudden and should be taken seriously. Doctors telling women they have anxiety every time we are concerned about something we notice that isn’t usually our norm needs to stop. It’s negligence on their behalf to not do more to rule out vs speculating that you’re just panicking.
@🧡 Eboni 🧡 I agree that symptoms need to stop being put off as anxiety. However after urine tests, serial blood pressure checks, blood work and a NST I’m not sure what else could have been done.
I also have swelling that started at 33 weeks which I am concerned is pre clampsia but my blood pressures are normal and no trace of proteins so they rule it as normal pregnancy swelling every check up . Either way keep a eye on it with doctor every week !!! 🙌🏽🙏🏾
The protein in the urine is concerning. Your doctor will probably have you collect a urine sample for 24 hours and analyze that. I would take your blood pressure every day from here on out on top of that to make sure you're on top of it. Worst case they put you on some medication and induce you early. Ive known a few people who had this and luckily all of them and their kids are fine so while I know that's scary, try not to freak out about it. Modern medicine is amazing!
If you don’t already, might be good to ask your OB about taking baby aspirin daily. I have a strong family history of high BP and preeclampsia (and typically show high BP at the dr’s), so they have me taking low dose aspirin and taking my BP every day. Definitely don’t discount your symptoms as “just anxiety”. It’s such an easy answer for doctors when they can’t explain things. Stay alert to your symptoms and advocate for yourself when you know things are not normal!
@Beebs I have been taking it 3 times a day since this happened, thankfully no more high blood pressures!
Wow! I don’t think I’ve met someone else with a lower blood pressure than me! From what I read there is a possibility but don’t think the worse until you know for sure!
