Diaper changes

My little one is 14 months old and he still absolutely hates having his diaper changed. He will scream and cry and kick and try to get up. I have tried everything. Pull ups, singing, giving him toys to play with during changes, giving his something to eat or drink during it. Nothing is helping. I’m so exhausted by the time I do get the diaper on him I start crying. Is there anything else I could try?

Maybe try giving him some stickers! The sticker texture of them may help distract him, or maybe give him a cold rag to mess with. Does he have a favorite toy? You could see if he’d lay down and get his diaper changed with the toy? Like act like your changing the toys diaper too.

My daughter went through this at about the same age. We practiced body parts (where is your tummy, where is your tummy, where is it, where is it, here is your tummy here is your tummy here it is) we usually make it through several body parts. Also she likes to hold a wipe 🤷‍♀️

Give him something that’s not a toy but it’s safe for him to play with supervised if that make sense lol my son is 2 and I still have to bribe him with holding a random thing like a bottle of vitamins (closed) just so I can change him. lol

I think it’s the age . My daughter has gotten bad about it too. I usually give her a toy or something she loves but I never let her touch like my phone or the tv remote it usually keeps her still enough for me to change her.

Could he have a special toy that he only ever has access to at changing time. He can pick out something really sensory or visual. Or blowing bubbles or something. To build up that positive connection x

Mine was the same, it’s just a phase but it will fortunately pass. Wish I could help more but nothing worked for my daughter during this phase either.

If you're using pull ups can you change him whilst he's standing? He can lean against something if not super stable on his feet yet/keep playing. Standing up nappy changes for all wet nappies made a huge difference for us

This is around the age I had to start changing my son’s nappy with him standing! His almost 2 now and I’m still changing him standing up and he doesn’t use pull ups🤦🏽‍♀️. It solved the issue right away however it did mean I had to chase him around at times if he isn’t distracted

Is he standing up or walking?
I would suggest you change his diaper while he is standing up. Once they are mobile they start to need more independence and movement and laying them on their back restrains their movement so they feel constrained.

Second standing up for nappy changes if possible

Wdy think of this for a toddler to learn word construction?

I'm open to anything else to start teaching him to read and write. He's 3!

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
