Job hunting

Before we found out we were expecting I was working two days a week in a coffee shop and the rest of the week I was working on my business (Stationer & Signwriter).

Since finding out how much SMP I will be getting I’m stressing about our financials. My partner is also self-employed and hasn’t been paid/full paid since October ‘24. (He is a company director and owner of his business).

I’m trying to find PT work, to go along with my current work and applied for a few remote jobs for marketing (which was my FT job pre self-employed) but then panic whether I should be mentioning that I’m pregnant and due in August when I apply or go for online interviews.

At a complete loss about this but I have applied for a lot of craft markets before and after when baby is due.

🥲

You don't have to enclose that you are pregnant unless you would like to. Because as much as its discrimination not to hire a person thats pregnant, companies are still Bias whether they like to admit it or not.

But I also think its good to be open, maybe don't mention it at first stage interview and let them know once the job is offered if you feel like you should, but you dont have to let anyone know until 15 weeks before due date. There's a few articles online.

Hope this helps x

You don’t have to disclose in the interview process at all. The only thing you have to do is tell your employer (if you accepted a job) 15 weeks before your expected due date (so approx 25weeks) pregnant.
