How many weeks are you? And why did you ask them to do a sweep, if it’s too early?
@Hridzi 38+2, they offered a sweep so I said yes
@Abi it’s not usually recommended till after 39 weeks how odd suppose maybe every hospital is different
@chloe it’s because I was already having tightenings so they said it might move things along quicker x
What’s the latest with your contractions? I’m 38+2 and have my MW appt and going to ask for a sweep too, as at 35 weeks I was getting regular contractions and still am so Hoping she will do it to kick start things
@Lauren they were regular last night and now stopped this morning😫 had some cramps but nothing regular, lost a tiny bit of my plug so I’m hoping things kickstart again later today x
I’ve just had a sweep myself 🤞🤞 Fingers crossed these babies decide to say hi soon xx
@Lauren fingers crossed for you! How did you find it? Mine was so painful x
38+2 woke up yesterday with extreme sickness out of no where again, needing to wee every 15/20 minutes, went up to triage for reduced movements and turns out im in early labour! No other symptoms other than those however since coming home tonight to “progress further at home” like they told me to, the braxton hicks that I thought I was just having are a lot more intense and turned out to be early contractions! Triage wouldn’t check for dilation as his heart rate kept rising everytime it picked up I was having a contraction however to me when I was in triage they just felt like he was rolling around!! Also worth a mention my waters haven’t broke and I haven’t had my bloody show yet! xx
@Abi mine wasn’t painful, but my cerivx was very soft and 2cm dilated so assume that made a difference? Also second baby, so maybe my cervix is just a bit more robust at taking a battering 😂
They recommend going in if your contractions are 5 mins apart
