Baby girl woke up yesterday with a rash overnight. We took her to the gp as we were told the week before she had a viral infection and was unsure if it was related. He mentioned ringworm and then said she's too young. Then he said eczema and told me the rash must have been there before. She had a bath the night before, so there's no way we missed the rash! Can eczema just appear overnight? It's worse today but doesn't seem to bother her.

That does look like ringworm actually. My step son had it recently and it's almost identical. Has anyone they're close to had it or anyone at nursery etc?

@Bethan She's 4 months old. Not that I know of, but we go to baby swimming and baby classes

Yes, good idea!

Pharmacist also said eczema

You can’t be too young to get ringworm, you can get it at any age

Are these the only patches or are there any others on her body?
My son has nummular eczema and it presents similar to this, circular patches varying in size across his body. He doesn’t find them itchy, they get worse after a bath

Hi my son has woken up with a similar rash did you ever find out what this was?

It was eczema, but we still don't know what suddenly caused it. It's now gone after using Dermol cream
