Anyone been to venice with an 11m old and a 2 year old, any advice

I haven't been but I have a friend who has and she said because there are a lot of bridges and stairs it's a bit more difficult to walk around with baby in a stroller. Might be worth investigating.
We are definitely going as surprise for my dad birthday, he is travelling and we all plan fly and meet him.
we have joolz aer pram so lightweight but maybe bring the carrier too
Hey we're going in May with my lo who will be 15 months. I got advised the same about not being pram friendly. We're going to take a sling and we booked to stay out of the main touristy area.
I would love to know if anyone has any suggestions of toddler friendly activities and stuff though xx
