Breast milk to formula

I’m having the same problem with my milk not filling her up enough! I always do formula now before bed as it sees her through then my milk first thing in the morning, then depending what we’re doing through the day she’ll either have my milk or sma ready mades

I went through this with my little boy who I exclusively fed for 5 months before switching him to Kendamil organic. We just done a bed time bottle for a few days and then I started to do a couple through the day and so on. The ready to feed bottles made him really unwell with his tummy though so we just stuck to the powder now. Infacol in all bottles helped a lot too x

I’ve done the same and Aptamil comfort works for my baby. Kendamil gave my baby gas, reflux and constipated her. She’s 4 months now and has been great for her. I hope this helps x

Not getting on with it as in sick/constipated or just not wanting it? Babies have taste preferences aswell and if she’s use to your milk that’s all she going to want! Try a bottle with an oz or 2 of formula and the rest breastmilk.. you can mix the 2! I use to pre make some formula and leave it in the fridge with my pumped milk. When both were cooled, pour whatever ratio I was doing into a bottle and warm it up! That helped my little girl start getting use to the taste of formula

I mixed formula and breast milk 50/50 (using the right amount of water for formula) before making the full switch. My boy was getting sick when moving from ready made aptamil to powdered form but was fine in under a week. It can take a few days to a few weeks for their tummy to adjust

@Rhiannon thank you I’ll try that. Her stomach seems to really be giving her a lot of pain like she’s writhing in pain but I can’t seem to get any more wind up from her but I’ll try the above and see if that helps!! Thank you!!

My friends breastfed baby kept being sick after formula, she was advised to mix a small amount of formula in with the breast milk, then slowly increase the amount of formula every few feeds, and that's worked great for her!

We have switched last month . First gradually while I still had some supply but then I completely lost my supply so she is now full on formula . We are using Kendamil and she seems to be doing well . Pooping every day , the only thing I’ve noticed is she brings up the milk sometimes , not a lot , a wee bit but she never did that when she was breastfed . And oh man it’s stinks 😂😂 the breast milk sick and poop were fine but the formula ones now are so stinky

@Ange thank you! I’ve been trying this and it’s been working great! My supply is dropping but still enough to be mixing bottles so will do this going forward for now until I can properly ween onto formula!
