Slim fitting boys trousers

My 3 year old has a slim waist and I'm just finding it impossible finding trousers to fit him (size 3-4). I had quite a few hand me downs and gifted trousers that just completely hang off him or fall down so they've all had to be passed on. He is tall so needs length but not the width. He prefers wearing joggers or leggings but anything drawstring I have to tie so tight it's making it hard for him to go to the toilet independently and they stop doing leggings for boys in this size range for some reason. So I've only been buying the h&m slim jeans with the adjustable waistband. But I have to really pull the elastic to get them slim enough and the last pair I bought him are still way too big (I think they may have been made wrong I bought them in the sale).

I know he does have a slim waist but I don't think he looks that much different than other boys his age, why do shops make boys trousers so wide!? It's so frustrating.

Would like some recommendations of some trousers that might actually fit and be comfy for him, that he can easily get on and off himself please.

Tu Clothing does boys leggings in bigger sizes although annoyingly 3-4 is out of stock. We’ve had a few packs of these. My boy is like yours with a slim waist and long legs and they do run a little short on him but not massively x

I’ve found the girls leggings in primark are very slim fitting. Not sure if the boys trousers might be too?

thanks! Will have to keep a look out see if I can grab some in his size. Our local sainsburys is terrible so I don't usually go in there.

My nearly 4 yo is the same. For trousers next are good as they have the adjustable elastic waistband. I got some leggings from Asda recently (online) and they seems to fit reasonably one of their multipacks, I got a 3-4. It's so hard to find clothes to fit! My boy also lives in leggings
