The information on the packaging is a guide only. Babies can't over eat and don't actually learn that til around aged 5. If they get confused and drink more than they can rake they just throw up the extra. I would therefore try upping the oz to 5 and see how she does. My baby boy is 2.5 weeks and currently eats around 4oz every 2 to 3 hours however there have been times where he's become hungry after an hour and I just go with it. X
If she is draining 4oz and still hungry then shes ready for 5oz.. but could also be the 3 week growth spurt. Give her a try on 5oz next feed for a trial, if she drinks most or all keep her on that for a while. When doing bottles, always do an oz more incase they need more and your not under feeding. Hope this helps, you got this mama💐🤍
Thank you everyone x
My baby girl was 6lb 2oz when born. She is 4 weeks and 2 days now and was draining 4oz last week so upped it to 5oz and she is draining that too and still looking for more. I’m scared to up it any more than 5 though 😅
@Chloe it is all scary x
My 2 weeks old baby is drinking 4oz you know what’s best for your baby
My little girl is 5oz atm and is 4 week on Sunday but will be going on to 6 by end of this week she’s finishing all her bottles and has started to want more, HV said that if they do that just up it and see how they go x
My baby is 3 days old, and he drains 4oz every 3-4 hours. I just gave him 1oz at first but he was starving, screaming and constantly rooting so much that he just wouldn’t sleep through on the first/second night. So he now has 4oz. I’m constantly worried now that I’ve over fed him but he seems content. He is 9lb2oz so not a tiny tiny baby x
My baby is 3 weeks on Saturday and drains 4oz. I combi feed and when I express im getting 5oz which he is taking every night feed. You can't overfeed a baby. If it is too much they will throw up the extra.
