I'd just cut it, it'll help keep the rest of her hair healthier
It seems like a bed head spot. We got a silk pillowcase and frequent haircuts to keep it at bay.
Get her a little bonnett, I have very dry hair myself and I found that it definitely helps. That or a silk pillowcase but you can find bonnets quite easily for cheap! Or you can make one!
Just needs a trim. The hair should stop matting. Triming hair often keeps it healthy and growing. We go about 12 weeks between trims.
hairstylist here! she needs a haircut. so many people think not cutting your hair will make it grow but it’s entirely the opposite. those ends need to be cut off in order for it to stop matting and tangling. they’re very fine baby hairs and will continue to break if they’re not cut
@Jessica do you think 12 weeks is too long for toddlers? I had a stylist recommended it, but my mom is also a hair stylist and said only 8 weeks, but sometimes i feel like 8 weeks doesn't give enough growth, especially since we're not rough on the hair by using product or heat.
@Keylii i think anywhere from 8-12 weeks is just fine! i would say whatever you’re most comfortable with or you could even go in between at 10! i always let my guests decide but definitely somewhere between 8-12 weeks! hair only grows about a half an inch a month on average so after her first cut, i would make sure you’re only taking the dead ends so you can make sure you’re seeing some growth!
It looks like baby hair, too thin. It would be explained by the fact you have never cut them. When you cut the hair grow thicker and takes a proper shape. If they are too thin they get tangled and take the shape of where your kid puts the head, particularly the pillow. I shaved my son's when he was 2 and now he has beautiful locks, before they were very thin. I would cut them, if not all, a good bit. It's like when you have split ends, they look thin and damaged. They will grow back fast
