Struggling with my newborn😩

Hi mummas! I’ve recently had a newborn who is 4 weeks today. I’m struggling to understand what my baby needs are, as to why I can’t get him to sleep. He wakes up every 2-3hrs for a feed. He burps, passes wind, does a poo and yet to put him back down is a challenge, even though he looks like he is asleep he cries hysterically so I have to pick him up again.. I feel like I have tried everything.. even rocking him in my arms, skin to skin, leaving him to cry before I pick him up.. even a dummy. Am I doing something wrong? Could he have some sort of stomach bug? Colic? Reflux? I’m just confused as this is my second child and my first wasn’t like this at all.

I had the same thing, my son was super irritable after trying it all. Not sure if it’s just the age but one thing we did try was changing the bottles we fed him with. We were using tommee tippee and changed to lansinoh and things improved but just to reassure you mama, you’re doing a great job ❤️

My baby was the same. She had severe reflux. If nothing helps, know you are not doing anything wrong and bub will grow out of it eventually. Start with getting baby checked by their GP and go from there

I was going to suggest maybe colic? Maybe see a doctor, midwife or Paediatrician and find out why/what your bub is uncomfortable. Best of luck 🤞 I hope bub is ok

@Mirka I definitely will! Currently it’s been almost 4hrs with him up as we are struggling to get him to sleep -.-

I know this all too well.

We put our baby on reflux formula because of similar symptoms and it changed everything He still wakes through out the night (he’s 6 months old) but only 1-2 times not 4-5 times anymore

Girl I feel you my first was a breeze the best baby I’m not just saying that I was very blessed with my first but with my second oh god I have nothing but trouble she don’t sleep really much in the day time unless she is in my arms sometimes she just wants to be hold all the time can’t put her down & cries so bad the whole neighbourhood would think I’m killing or hurting her she cries that loud. It’s exhausting me & she is 9 weeks now hoping things get better soon because I feel bad for my other baby that not even 2 yet. Maybe go see a paediatrician maybe bubba has stomach issues or might have reflux or colic. Which my baby girl has colic since putting her on her colic formula half breast feed she has been better but still just want to be in my arms. & she don’t sleep enough as well always over tired. I know it will get better in time just like it will for you mama bear hang in there

UPDATE.. I have changed my son’s formula to the Aptamil Gold Reflux & omg it has been a game changer already. He’s like a new baby!! Settled after a feed, goes to sleep easily and stretching already those naps which is amazing!! I will still go see my local GP and let the MHN know aswell just to get that further looked out
