My baby very clearly says mama and dada and other basic babble words. He has no idea what they mean and I don't think he says them with purpose yet. He understands lots of words like clap, hi, bye, come, no, up, down, bottle, kitty, etc but can't say any of them yet himself.
We get "mama," "dada," *buba," and "nana" for banana. He loves them!
We have mama, in and out, clapping and pointing and he definitely knows what they mean.
Dada, mama very rarely, her big sisters name, bear, dog, bird, eat, cheese, hello, bye, belly button, ball, baby, and some other I can’t remember
My baby has been talking up a storm! I'm so scared for the next couple years. He says Mama, Dada, Grandma, Grandma, Cat, "wawa", Puppy, hi, bye, fish, eat, snacks, orange, berry, egg, apples, ducky, poop, peepee, potty, bubble, up, yucky, book, bug, Mia (our cat), and my new favorites "booby" and "ewww". He just learned those this week. It's absolutely baffling, but he understands all of them and uses them with meaning. I talk to him ALL day long, and we read nonstop. I nannied before and none of those kiddos even came close to this level of speech. I'm not doing anything different. I'm genuinely wondering if my son is a really old soul and just remembers things from a past life. It's trippy.
That’s more than my baby does 😂 Mine only “says” mama and dada. Doesn’t point or wave yet. Starting to literally say “goo goo ga ga” haha
