Try the hot shot method! We’ve been doing this day and night time. Bottle is then made and ready in the time it takes to change his happy (if you have two people one to change nappy one to make bottle).
I have the nuby rapid maker and the tomme tippe flask and do the hot shot method takes literally less than 2 minutes to do and I can do it in bed only got it Thursday and it’s the best thing I could of bought so I don’t have to wake my daughter up while he brother is crying for a bottle
@Karli @Joo Ohhh I’ve never heard of the hot shot method I’ll have to look into that! We’re currently using a kettle downstairs, boiling and leaving half an hour before we make the bottle which works during day as we can anticipate when little one will want the bottle from his cues but when you’re asleep that’s much harder hahaa
definitely look into the hot shot method! can make a bottle within minutes!x
I have a Tommy tippee prep machine off Facebook for £30 and keeping it in the bedroom, I just bought a new filter for it in super drug! Also was gifted at Nuby rapid cool yesterday and have been looking up on Tiktok about the hot shot method, which sounds great for out and about. Honestly so many things I have no clue what I'm doing but at night when Mr needs his food he needs it instantly and the prep machine has been a god send!!
So for the hot stop method we fill a flask with boiling water before we go to bed and have a bigger bottle filled with cooled boiled water. For a 90ml bottle I do 30ml hot water and add all formula to that. Swirl it and then add 60ml of the cooled boiled water and the swirl it. Then it’s ready to drink and it’s not hot (my little one likes it more cold so works well for us). It’s trial and error to find the right ml to do as you size up so it isn’t too hot but once you’ve figured it it’s a game changer!
I boil the kettle and then make up my bottles for 24 hours when it’s cooled: when need a bottle add the powder. Serve at room temperature. Xx
You can make up a batch and keep it in the fridge, we have a bottle warmer so make up enough for the night and then just warm the bottle (but she also loves a cold milk?! She's mad)
We do the fridge method for overnight feeds atm, one of us is sleeping downstairs with LO doing night shifts so we just have to grab it out of the fridge when we need it
Nuby rapid cools for night time. I’ve used the prep machine for the past two nights and she so much more windy and unsettled. So we’re going to use the rapid cools flasks again. They’re so easy to use. Amazon have them on sale at the moment and Aldi had them on their baby event on Monday (prob sold out now) x
I take pre-made bottles up to bed with the boiled water then when he is ready for it add the formula to it and sometimes use a bottle warmer which takes minutes or he has it cold. I have been told a sterilised bottle with water you have 12 hours on it then once the powder is added you have 2 hrs on that bottle. So I go up with 3 bottles prepared for the night. I had a c section so going up and down stairs to begin with was too much so everything is beside my bed ready and that’s worked for me x
in the first few weeks we used premades at night time as there was no way i was getting out of bed and boiling a kettle every 2-3 hours. when baby got to 3 months i think we started using the prep machine at night
how are you currently doing up bottles? could get a prep machine or a nuby rapid flask? or put a kettle in your room & do the hot shot method?x
