Chickenpox exposure

Would you take your 18m LO to a friends knowing their child has chickenpox? I am torn between my LO not catching it but also wanting to catch it so he has it at an early age.

If I knew willingly then nope I work take them

My daughter caught it when she was fairly young and had a mild version of it, then caught it again last year and had it bad the second time round. So as it turns out, if they get a mild version of it, they can get it again anyway lol

If you’ve been around that friend in the last couple of weeks, chickenpox is most contagious before the spots even appear, so your little one may have caught it already.

A friend did this when my LG had chickenpox as she wanted to know when it was coming and control it as much as possible, with timing etc. So it’s really up to you! When my LG had it, it was a surprise but I’m a SAHM so it didn’t mess with nursery/work/needing time off etc, and she was 11 months.

If kids catch it under 2 they can catch it again.
