Go to things to keep toddlers entertained on long car rides - screen free edition!

We have a 4 and a half hour journey to make (and then back again 🙃) in June and I'm looking to create a survival pack for my toddler 😂 What are your screen free go tos? ❤️

Amazon do some great travel activity books. We’ve got one with zips, laces, Velcro numbers/animals - she loves it.

My toddler particularly likes a magnet zoo kit I got from the Works. Stickers, soft toys, books, water drawing book, lots of singing along to the Yoto and loads of snacks!

Montessori activity book is good. My girl loves taking the cards out and putting the cards back into my purse. A snack keeps mine entertained for a while. I’m sure they will have a sleep too?

We recently did a 4 hour journey with a rest included, I sat in the back with her and managed to keep her entertained with toys and snacks for an hour, then she slept for an hour, we got out had lunch stretched our legs a bit and for the last haul I pulled out some new sensory/sound books that she loved!

Also songs. We have a kids playlist and she likes to sing along.

Travel during nap time to decrease how long the journey feels to them and how long you have to entertain them for. My little one loves flashcards where we recite the words, music on in the car, snacks, also any new bits and pieces that will be exciting to them as they’re new and fresh ❤️ xx
