Ebf feeding times

How often are our little ones feeding now (ebf)? Mines always gone 2 hourly but sometimes feel like I may be making him feed when he doesn’t want to as he fusses and messes around, pulling off and sometimes crying. Does this mean he’s not hungry and I should try waiting longer?

Every 3 hours ISH, I just go by her cues now but every baby is different 😊 longer at night

We currently do feed, play and sleep during the day meaning it’s roughly every 2.5-3hrs as she sleeps for an hour and her wake window is 1.5-2hrs

Same as Anna 😊

He has started sleeping through the night so feeding more in the day. I go by his cues so it varies. Sometimes every hour, especially in the morning and then goes about 2-3 hours where he was previously doing about 3/3.5hrs. I don’t think they’ll nurse if not hungry. You could leave him and see. Could also be going through a fussy stage. So hard to tell sometimes x

2.5-3 hours for me! I try not to wait until she fusses, but if she does it’ll be past the 3 hour mark. 2.5-3hrs means she’s great on the boob. Any less time than that and she’s super distracted and not really feeding

@Jess yeah I wouldn’t really class it as nursing, I think maybe I’m panicking that he’s hungry and pushing him to feed a little too much! I think I’ll try 2.5/3 hourly tomorrow and see if he’s any better!

@Lauren I think I need to trial this because that’s exactly how my baby is, I’m sure it’s me worrying he should be hungry and encouraging him to feed when really he doesn’t want to!

Yeah I’m also guilty of this! I used to use the boob when the feed time worked for me, but now I really need to follow her cues more. She has also on occasion full on rejected the boob when she’s not hungry, which she never used to do

Fair enough! I think we all do it at times, especially if about to go out or something otherwise I follow his cues. Maybe try wait for the initial cues and then offer. If I offer my son when he isn’t hungry, he just won’t have any. My first born would usually have whenever I offered so they’re all different x
