@Natalie How far in advance were you able to get a date booked in? Yes my consultant said she would put in my plan that I can go in from 37 weeks due to my health conditions, mental health and age. It’s good you will be more at ease knowing when it’s all going to happen, anxiety is awful. I hope it all goes well for you x
I think a lot will depend on what type of induction it is and whether it requires you staying in a hospital or not, whether they have beds available etc. Different hospitals have different policies too. For example, at my hospital you can't even get a c-section date until a week before at most so I imagine the induction is more of a we'll see when we can fit you in type of situation x
This is crazy to me cause my hospital will not induce you unless you go 4 days over your due date 😭 I’m due the 5th but booked in for the 9th and I can’t get one any earlier x
@Robyn I think it depends on your circumstances with baby’s measurements or your age and health etc x
@Katy I’m not sure honestly, my hospital said something along the lines of sometimes with induction there can be a lot of unavoidable issues so they try to wait for you to go naturally for as long as they can. I guess they all do things differently but I’d love to be able to book mine right NOW (I’m 39 weeks 😭) xx
@Robyn You must be more than ready to go!! Fingers crossed you don’t have to wait for your induction and you go in naturally before that x
@Katy I only saw my consultant on Wednesday last week. But because of my anxiety my blood pressure always goes up in hospital too and I don’t think they like that either. I take it every day at home and it’s fine at home. But always goes up in hospital! But yeah she said because of my blood pressure because he’s transverse and because of my anxiety she’d rather get me in sooner than later! Xx
@Robyn I think their policy might be like this because there's a lot of research showing that induction when your body (and/or the baby) isn't quite ready has a relatively high chance of failure and often ends in EMCS
@Paulina yes I think it might be this, a lot of inductions where I am lead to c section anyway atleast that’s my knowledge on things x
I’ve got an induction booked in, more consultant said she advised me to get one in as baby is transverse and I suffer with ocd and anxiety so she wanted it to be as chilled as possible. I’m booked in for 37+4
