Poo Problems

Anyone else’s LO have poop problems? My daughter is 16 months and for months now she’s had issues with her bowel movements, she only has one a day if we’re lucky and they are so large and firm that I think she’s developed a fear of pooping and now refuses to do it unless she’s stimulated from a warm bath. I’ve switched her diet several times, cut out cheeses and upped her fiber, she drinks tons of water and gets in a lot of movement but it’s still a struggle. We’ve even gone with our peds recommendation of doing a daily dose of miralax for a week to try to regulate her and make them smaller but it didn’t change a thing 😔 just at a loss at this point, I feel so sorry for her because every time it’s a struggle and she’s turning bright red and clearly in pain. I’m thinking I need to take her to a specialist at this point

You can try daily probiotics for a month. Also chia seeds can help the stool consistency.

Kiwi, flax, chia, prunes. Honey might help. Cooking with healthy oils like avocado or olive oil. Avoid apples. does she drink formula? Is the poop green? If so it could be too much iron. Miralax won’t help if she isn’t drinking a ton of water since it’s an osmotic laxative. Maybe tummy massages? You could ask dr abt probiotics and prebiotics. Try not to change too much at once tho it could make her super gassy.

Get her to blow bubbles/a balloon when she's on the potty, or even just pretend. This should ease the release.

Perhaps she needs more liquids intake ? More fruits and veg? Is there something she could be eating that is causing them to firm up that much? Poor girl
