Could you not feed baby while changing bum?
No if it isn’t dirty or soaking wet then I agree with you I used to do the same my three year old is still in nappies and I don’t wake him up if he wakes up upset or something and i can smell it I will change him but it’s very rare he wakes up and. I am not waking him this mumma works full time and I need sleep
@Charas it completely wakes him up I’ve tried this before xx
@Alexis I’ve tried this before changing before feeding and he just completely wakes up. Yeah I’d understand if he’s soiled or soaking through of course but if I know that it’s okay then I don’t change him for the sake of an hour or two. Just feel like the worst mum. It’s crazy how much it can effect us off the opinion of someone else
@Siobhan thank you!! 🤍
It depends on how many hours passed from the last change till 5am. Personally, I don't like leaving a soaking nappy on for many hours as I'm scared it can cause irritation. It can happen occasionally, but not habitually.
I bath him every night and he goes to bed at 9pm after his bottle x
I definitely don’t change my sons nappy overnight unless it needs to be done!
You know your baby and the routine better than anyone - you're not a bad mum by any means! I completely understand the want for those extra 2 hours sleep and if his nappy was soaking you would change it - my little one has gone 12 hours before sleep wise and barely weed and I wouldn't wake her to change a nappy when she's comfortable! Typically mine doesn't wee a lot during the night and makes up for it during the day, it's completely individual! The only thing I would suggest is putting vaseline or petroleum jelly (same thing but the jelly is in a huge tub and cheaper) on his bottom before bed/after his bath to add a layer of protection and this helps/works wonders for their skin and helping create that barrier between skin and wee! ❤️ Your partner is sticking up for you to his mum as well, just stick to it as a team - you're doing the same as thousands of other women, there's no one way to look after a child especially when they're all completely different! ❤️😘 Xx
I don’t change my daughters nappy overnight unless she has done poop otherwise no way am I changing her and wake her up at 5 am and there is no one to tell me otherwise
@Charlotte thank you for your advice lovely. I will definitely be using this 🤍 yes he definitely makes up for it during the day 😂🤍xxxx
Baby lotion also works - I personally switch between the 2 and my little one has never been sore 🙏🏼❤️xx
Once they stop pooing at night I don’t change during the night, my kids r still sleepy when they wake up for a feed in the night, ur not wrong for doing this, you know your child
I would onlt change my daughter if she had done a poo or she wouldn’t go back to sleep in the night!

If ur MIL wants to change the nappy AND stay with an awake baby - be my guest is what i would say- i will sleep til 7am!!! I think it really depends on baby. My babys bum looks red a lot but i know its not bothering him. And altho very wet, his nappy doesn’t bothrr him as otherwise he would wake. However i do sometimes wake for feeds midnight or 2 am so then i chsnge him as i know he will fall asleep better then and not leak after 5am
I only changed for poop, I definitely wouldn’t change at 5am for wee unless it was so full there was likely to be a wee escape before proper wake up. Sore/red bums are usually from poo rather than wee.
Opinions are like arse holes, everyone has one. Just because someone tells you something, it doesn't make it true. This is your child not hers
Some ppl crawl out of a hole.u never know what u get but if my baby has wet bum and it gets irritated by pee...u really don't need a SOAKING diaper to cause skin redness or irritation. The diapers sometimes even the best brand..pamper, hughie etc etc etc 1pee.... you can feel it with back of ur hands ( if u have any sensation in ur hand at all) it's damp or wet. It's like..pads and menstrual cycle on day 1 or just slowly starting and then same day full on bleeding.. but touch it if u ever accidently, bleed once its wet and its not dry wet, its a wetness to it . Yes it has affect on skin but we ar3 grown up and they ar3 babies... babies bums are meant to be changed and dry or vaselin at very least..9-5am .. is longg and until 7am most likely he gets changed. We don't know age of baby..But my girl has eczema and her bum can't take it andi change often and not for Soiled or soaked...soil could mean anything , its dirty, or, u mean poop only? I get it tired, working etc..what's wrong with her being concerned?
I love how ppl say, its ur kid,.... so ur going to starve them, beat them, do what ever and we all watch ya? What bizarre thinking, and it's spread like virus.. my kid I do what I want, I do what best... that not what law says. Thank god, cause kids and babies they can't talk ya
@Ali what’s your point
@Nikita u must have special needs. Maybe u need some more intoxication
@Alexis 🤣🤣
If I did it that long the wetness of it would be a sopping mess. Maybe just because I use Sam’s diapers, but yeah. My baby only had diaper rash when the nicu left him hours between changes sitting in it, because it was only changed at feeds 🤷🏼♀️ I change it in his bassinet with a changing pad, he doesn’t even care and I do it before he feeds so he passes right back out. I’m not saying you’re wrong, it’s your choice, but I know I’d be uncomfortable personally. So I don’t make him deal with the big heavy wet diaper. 🤷🏼♀️ if you’re saying he hasnt wet or pooped it, well then, by all means leave it.
