I recently found out that I am pregnant (unplanned). My first born is almost 2 and I have registered him for the day care since I planned to return to work after he gets the final spot confirmation.
Now that the circumstances have changed & I may/may not find a suitable job quickly I might have to stay at home for longer.
What do you all suggest? Should I put him in day care & get some time for myself maybe do an online course & give myself some rest? OR
Keep my toddler with me, save some $$
Also I have seen so many friends kids getting sick every other week in the 1st year of day care so I am worried about that too. Will it be okay for me and then the newborn to be exposed to so many viruses?
Pls suggest. Thank you so much in advance.

I’m heavily considering pulling my 23m from daycare when I go on mat leave because the illness is unbearable. It’s not just like one illness and then another illness it’s multiple illnesses on top of each other, sick 100% of the time. Mom and dad both get sick too. And I’m worried about the baby getting exposed to those germs. I also think it would be 100x easier to watch a toddler and a newborn than it would be to have him in daycare some of the time but everyone sick all of the time. They miss so much time from the illnesses as well. Currently I have a cold, son has a cold and hfm. I’m just waiting for my hfm symptoms to develop. We’ve literally had 3 days of health since daycare started in November.
oh gosh sounds so stressful to have a sick toddler & getting sick while pregnant!
Pulling your toddler from the daycare when the newborn arrives sounds good. It will add work load for sure but at least you will have peace of mind & a healthy house for the newborn 💯
