Birthing experience at kingsmill?

I gave birth at Kingsmill, everyone was so so lovely and made my experience so magical, even cried with a student midwife who said she was proud of me 🥰 can’t wait to have my next baby there

@Eden that’s reassuring, I’m so glad you had a great first experience! I had my first in Barnsley and it was honestly atrocious. We moved to Kirkby the day I was discharged as my home got broken into so all of my aftercare and babies appointments have been at kingsmill and so far it’s been amazing. They of course asked about my birth and were shocked/horrified by my experience. My first experience made me not want anymore babies but my experience with kingsmill has changed my mind, so I’m trying to find out a bit more about people’s birth experience as I’ve only experienced aftercare and I’m really wanting baby #2 x

I have had my maternity care and given birth twice at Kings Mill - four years ago and 2 days ago! Overall very positive experiences both times. All the staff were lovely and the hospital environment, labour rooms and maternity ward are very nice compared to some other local hospitals which are much older and smaller. During the birth this weekend the midwife and student midwife were absolutely amazing with us and it was a very positive experience

Oh god bless you that’s horrible i’m so sorry to hear that, It’s always so upsetting when you hear women have been put off because of people who can’t do their job properly! In my experience and from what I’ve heard from others, Kingsmill is definitely one of the better options… I felt listened to, respected, not once felt like i was asking for too much or being silly, faciliities themselves where amazing, everything down to the cleaners and receptionist, honestly I couldn’t fault them on a single thing xx

I had a great birth at kingsmill! Turned up at 10cms, and they were all just amazing, got baby out in 15 mins.

I had my baby at kingsmill, I chose to go there rather than city / Qmc as I’d heard good things. They were great there, the staff were all so lovely and I felt so supported. I’m glad you’re having a good experience with their aftercare, especially after what sounds a horrendous ordeal for you. Hope you’re okay

I gave birth on 20th, my first midwife was good, but didn't overly communicate. However, the switch to the night midwife - she was so lovely! I couldn't thank her enough for the experience I had🥹 The only thing i didn't like was, we'd chose to try breastfeeding, but baby wouldn't latch, but they wanted to keep me in to help, but nothing was helping. Eventually, I discharged myself and he's now formula fed xx
