Opinions on vaccinating …. My mother in law is so against them and feeds all these negative things about them to me and now I have no idea what to do..

1000% would vaccinate. Even if you choose an alternative schedule. The benefits of the vaccines far outweigh any potential risks. The diseases you’re vaccinating against can be deadly to your child.

Vaccinate.

Unless there is a SEVERE allergy that is known, vaccinate your baby, yourself, and help others understand that it is helpful for your community as a whole. Like Marisa mentions, you can even work with your pediatrician on an alternate schedule.

Please vaccinate. Get your info from real sources through facts and science. The misinformation is wild when it comes to it especially in today’s political climate. Her opinions don’t matter. You are the mother. Sounds like she will have a lot to say about lots of things so remember boundaries are healthy. You do what’s right for your baby.

Vaccinate. Protect your child.

Your baby not your mil’s. Do what you feel is best.

I vaccinated but just did a more stretched out schedule and waited until I felt he was ready. The more I thought about it I could never know what he would get into as he gets older. It’s impossible to watch kids every second but I have seen kids live healthy lives without it. I just have anxiety

Watch Candance Owens podcast about vaccines, also read the ingredients in the vaccines. I was told you can always come back to the vaccines but you can never take them away and it stuck with me. Dont listen to what others have to say, make the decision for yourself!

@Jaymee lol Candace Owens is a grifter at best and has no background, credentials or education that makes her a subject matter expert on vaccines. People like you are the reason moms have to worry about measles in 2025. Do better for your kid, and every other kid you are actively harming by being ignorant. Deplorable.

It’s a hard decision. The ingredients in these vaccines are a bit scary. In the end you’re the momma and you know what’s best. You can always delay vaccines as well. Why does a child need to be vaccinated from hepatitis b? There’s a lot of questions drs can’t answer. They just get paid to tell you that your baby needs it.

If you truly don’t know what to do then look into what your MIL is telling you. If she’s saying things and they’re causing you to think more about your choice, that is telling you something. If what she is saying is causing you concern over your child’s health & safety, follow that instinct. Look into it. Like @Gabryelle said, you can always delay but you can’t take it back.

Also I applaud you for asking this question in this app. Such a controversial topic (when it reeeaallly doesn’t need to be) and you’re going to get such strong opinions from either side where each person thinks they’re right and can’t see it any other way. In the end, YOU make the choice. Don’t let someone else decide for you.

@Prakriti Like I said dont listen to what others say, doctors and moms like you pressure others into doing things they havent even researched deeply themselves. Candance Owens just shows a perspective that is insightful.

This makes me so sad. It’s an echo chamber where extremists just validate each other. I feel so bad for all the children who are going to get sick and potentially die because of people who are anti-science and believe their “research” (aka the absolute shit posted above) is somehow more legitimate than decades of empirical data and actual research from people who have dedicated decades of their own lives to their education and credentials. Doctors don’t get paid for vaccines. Y’all are beyond ridiculous and uneducated. It makes me genuinely worried that people like you are procreating. If this type of misinformation is peddled on this app, I’m totally ok not being on it. Enjoy the echo chamber and I pray for your kids and all those kids you will hurt because of your horrendous choices.

@Prakriti it’s obvious that you feel very strongly about this topic, we all have that “thing” that gets us heated. That’s totally legit. I get it. I just want to point out, of the 11 different people (including yourself) who have commented on this thread, no one has said “don’t vaccinate”. In fact, the majority are plainly supportive of it. Any one who hasn’t plainly said to vaccinate has only said to do some research- which could mean anything. You can research anything to support or deny something. So to call others “extremists” and to refer to this as an echo chamber…. Is a bit much. If you feel the need to take a break from this app because you believe the information shared is harmful or “absolute shit”, then you absolutely should for your own mental health.

You will do what's best for your child. I did not want to vaccine. I wanted at least to delay vaccine for more research but my partner and his family are strong supporters and i felt so pressured to just agree and do it. I upset myself everyday and hate myself for it. Everyone has really strong opinions on it, yes, you made a post reaching out on what mothers chose to do for their child, and ultimately at the end of the day matter how many people tell you to do it or not do it, for the sake of your child, you will decide what's best for them. You don't have to do it right away, if you need more time, the doctors will understand. Don't get pressured into any decision. I wouldn't want anyone to feel the way i do.

I worked in healthcare and legit saw babies die from not being vaccinated. Mainly rsv and flu. I got rsv vaccine when I was pregnant and I’m allergic to the flu shot so I’m gonna wait on that one but the rest she is getting
