Umbilical cord - infection?
Is this ok, or is it infected? We changed her nappy last night and knocked it and the clamp fell off with the rest of the cord but this part stayed on.

I’d get this checked out too. The maternity service should be able to help or if you have a health visitor coming soon.
I would take baby to get it checked, it looks infected.. what are you cleaning it with?
Thanks everyone! I called up the midwife and she told me to clean it with cooled down boiled water and let it air dry for 10-15 minutes every time we change her nappy as it’s not bleeding, and she’s sleeping, eating, pooping, and peeing. Let’s hope that’s all it is. 🙏
My babies fell off yesterday and this is also what his looks like😅
My babies looked like this and I thought was infected but midwife looked at it and said it was normal 🤷🏽♀️ it did clear up after a couple days of cleaning with warm water x

I would personally get this checked purely because of the yellow discharge on the top. Could be nothing but better safe than sorry x
