Heavy handed toddlers with newborn.

Anyone’s else’s toddler purposely heavy handed with their baby brothers/sisters? My 3 year old hits my 6 week old on the head, elbows her, try’s to put cars on her head, says he wants her to cry & wakes her on purpose. He does exactly what we tell him not & we have told him many times! I just don’t know how to handle it, he still does it as I’m telling him off! He was always a lovely natured boy until his sister was born 😕

She's a bit jealous and can sneakily kick her and lean on her a bit too heavily so yeah I get you. But mine hides it quite well until I'm not looking 😅🙄

@Sarah mine smiles while doing it! I just have no clue how to handle it. He won’t leave her alone & puts all his weight on her!

Idk if this would help but I read this book called sorry edit, got that wrong it's: Calm parents, happy siblings. Idk if some of the stuff I've tried has helped. She's only 2 though. Might be worse when she's 3 so not saying it's a magic cure lmao

Same here, I wish I could offer some help. Nothing we’ve tried seems to work, our 3,5 year old is consistently really rough with our 7 week old. It’s such a tough situation. Sending you lots of strength and patience!
