Newborn legs shaking

Does this look normal? My 3 week old keeps having periods where his legs just shake uncontrollably for a couple of seconds.

I know the video isn’t the clearest so I will try and get another one!

My baby didn’t do that but that’s not to say it’s not normal! Babies make all sorts of movements. I would get it checked out just for peace of mind. I got my son checked out because he was making a weird noise that turned out to be totally normal but it made me feel better x

yea I think you are right, my first didn’t do it either that’s what’s made me question it!x

My girls whole body used to shake, it terrified me. It was completely normal for her but maybe get it checked just to put your mind at rest xx

Take him to the hospital, looks like he’s having a seizure .

I know babies movements and everything is developing but this looks a bit more complicated than that .

My son’s leg randomly does this as well. Less so no w he is a bit older (5 weeks).

My boy kept doing something similar in his first week with his arms, he'd be in the startle reflex and then shake his arms uncontrollably. The first time I saw it I was so panicked, but he hasn't done it since so assuming it was developmental. Definitely get it seen to if it's recurring or causing baby distress as might point to an underlying issue. But hopefully it's just a normal part of baby growing x

I’m so glad you posted this as I was going to make an appointment today as my daughter does this and she’s my 4th baby - never seen it before!! Must be more common than we know !!!

Make an appoints in case! x

When born mine was making noises that they called singing and they also noticed her doing jittery movement but hers was with her arm, they said it could be a sign of an infection so did blood tests. They all came back clear so was just normal for her but best to get checked to be safe

My LO does this it’s only if the rest of their body goes stiff it’s a seizure this looks like a tremor and means the nervous system is working I mentioned it to the DR and they said if it’s prolonged more than a minute then it’s cause for concern but if it’s just random then don’t worry x

My babies did this! I thought something was up but I spoke with the pediatrician and she said it’s all good. It’s normal!

my husband does it when he stretches and now I’ve noticed it in my newborn aswell. It’s not a full body thing it’s just their leg moving. It seems to be semi common

Thank you all for ur comments, I have the doctors in half an hour so I will keep use updated on what they say x

My LB did this earlier today putting him in the car seat. Terrifying to see.

I was told by my doctor (when I asked how I know my baby is getting enough breastmilk) is one sign of low blood sugar is shaking and is serious. I would have your little one checked just in case ❤

Avatar

Our doctors sent us up the hospital to see the pediatrician but they aren’t concerned and just said it’s his nervous system however they did do a blood test to check his calcium as sometimes if it’s low can cause this to happen so if anyone else’s little one is doing this I would get them checked just in case xx

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

How many words

Just a quick gauge of how many words your little ones are saying at this age. I heard by 15 months it should be 5 words, are most around this mark ?
