Probably. A lot of women don’t get checked. I never did. I only get checked because I’m in full blown labour and they need to know if I can push or not without tearing.
Idk. No one needs to check your cervix unless specific concerns during labor. No one touched me.
I had a sweep at 40 weeks exactly on my due date. I was 1cm dilated and my waters broke that same day.
1.5 cm dilated.. induced labor 40 weeks 🤣 my baby didn’t want to come out he was too comfortable there
I asked for a sweep at 40 weeks and they couldn't do one because I was still 0. 41+4 got induced....still 0. 24 hours into my induction....still 0. 25 hours in, 5cm. 27 hours in 10cm. My little guy was real comfy in there 😂
0cm and I remained at 0 all the way through my induction! Took me 6 pessaries and the pitocin drip to get to 10cm and that took 5 days. Awful awful induction and labour x
@Shannon ohmigosh I'm so sorry. It took me 2 pills and pitocin but after that it went smoothly, just slow, slow, slow, then FAST
@Anna👼👶👼👼 awk it was awful I’ll never be induced again lol. I was 42 weeks aswell!!x
1cm with my first (i had a sweep and was induced via the pessary), i wasn't checked until i was in established labour with my second!
I was consistently 2-3cm with my second baby before labor. 😅
I don’t know I only went to hospital when I couldn’t take the pain anymore. I made it to 9cm with my first son and 5cm with my second so. But was in full blown labour both times
With my first, I never got checked until I was at the hospital in active labor. When I got there, I was at 5 or 6cm. With my second, I allowed them the check because I was trying to stay on top of things for a VBAC. At my 38 week appointment, I was 3cm. Went into labor like 5 days after that, when I got to hospital to have her, I was 7cm
@Vicky same here but I was 40+3. Contractions started 4 hours after the sweep. Waters broke 12 hours after the sweep. Ended up with an emergency c section though
@Donna Woods I ended up in an emergency c-section as well. Not good 😐

1st baby 0cm then from 5-10 in an hour (spontaneous) 2nd baby 0cm then went from 3-10 in under 30 minutes (induction)
41 weeks and I was 0 cm 😂
I am want to be that woman that is 9cm dilated walking around and has no idea. Amen 🙏🏾
i went in for my 39 week appointment & she said “you’re 8 cm dilated you should go to the hospital”
I started having contractions when my cervix was still high and completely closed. I couldn’t get a sweep, only after 2 days of prodromal labour were they able to break my water 😅
I was induced at 37 weeks with twins my cervix opened and then I was 4cm dilated for hours and hours and then the last min they was going to take me down for a c section but then said I was 9cm dilated so off I was ready to give birth. But I was 4cm dilated for hours and that’s when they was going to give me c section.
@Alina alot of people said this. I find it surprising. Im pregnant with my 3rd and the 1st 2 I had an OB they check EVERYONE starting at 36wks (thats the standar where i live). I came to learn from my midwife that it really doesn't do anything to change ur care, so y do we do it? I did ask her to check me last time I went at 39wk cuz I just wanted to know.
@MIA❤️🔥 OMG! THATS CRAZY! 🤯
@Ema hahhahah baby just falls out ! 😅
@Donna Woods ugg that sux. Hope u and baby r doing well 💓
@Ash honestly if you're curious you can always feel for yourself. There'd not set pattern that our cervix change before birth. Not enough benefit. Truly only a benefit during labor when there is something off and in those cases they could discover breech presentation ir maybe a prolapsed cord etc I won't ask for one and my midwife doesn't do them unless there's a unique circumstance and the mom is interested.
@Ash idk a LOT of OBGYN practices aren't evidence based. I've heard it takes a full 20 years for things to change
1st I was 6-7 cm 2nd I was 9cm
I don’t even know because it was so quick (I was drink red leaf tea) I woke up to my water breaking around 4 got to the hospital around 5:30-6 and I was 6cm. I gave birth at 2 minutes shy of 8
