What’s everyone packing in your hospital bag?
Going shopping tomorrow and I still can’t decide what to pack food and drink wise! So looking for some extra ideas

Learn more about our guidelines.I packed way too many snacks last time. This time all I'm taking is one of those squeezy things of squash (because hospital water tastes horrible!) and a pack of granola bars.
I think it depends on your labour though, if you're induced you'll possibly want more because you're likely to be in longer.
I'm having an elective section so I won't be able to eat beforehand anyway, and after I'll want to take it slow...
They recommend lucozade and sweets after labour to help with energy levels x
I couldn’t eat a thing for 5 days whilst in labour and after. So I would just bring energy rich things that are easy to eat. Nut bars, lots of drinks etc
I just packed a bottle of squash, I've never needed snacks during labour the last 2 times. Just enjoy the tea and toast after 🤣
I took orange lucozade sport and jelly babies with my first child - weirdly enough I couldn’t keep water down, I kept bringing it back up and orange juice/lucozade was all I could drink during my labour 🤷🏻♀️🤣 I never ate any of the jelly babies so I’ll probably choose a different sweet this time! Anything with sugar in to help energy levels would be fine I guess x
I'm packing an isotonic drink, one each and then one of those tiny squeezy squashes in case I want juice after that. Then probs a protein bar/granola bar each, and a bag of moams sweets for good measure 😂 The hospital has a shop open 24/7 so if I was in a longer time than expected if just send partner down there
I've kept it proper simple for my second. One packet of tangfastics, one packet of jelly tots, mini milky bar chocolates, a packet of skips and 6 ribenea cartons. If I need anything else, I'll just do an ubereats order to the ward. My snacks will be decanted into a snack tray as well for space.
Flapjacks, fruit nakd bars, jelly babies, popcorn, lucozade and chocolate buttons 🤣
Haribo strawbs and lucozade sport fed to me by my husband like an ancient royal have gotten me through it every time 👌
Last time they told me not to eat during active labour, lucozade (non fizzy) only. Snacks were for afterwards when breastfeeding at 3am :)
Fruit and nuts!!
