If it’s too hard you can try to give more liquid
@Natalie I heard bananas can cause constipation. I give her quite a lot of water already
@Monika As long as their ripe it's fine. If they aren't ripe it's starchy and hard for them to digest but I doubt you were feeding your baby green bananas x
Is bubba drinking enough fluids? If so, I would recommend taking your LO to the Dr to be checked out
Whenever my lo was struggling I gave him prune puree usually in his porridge but he does also like it by itself.
My little girl is like this. I went to doctors and they gave lactolose the first time. It’s still the same and I’m mindful of what foods I give. We’re on movicol now and I offer fluids pretty much anytime I stand up. All her poo’s are hard like an adult poo and sometimes she screams when passing 😢 movicol has definitely helped us. Lactolose can make worse if they aren’t having enough fluids xx
This happened with my bub for the first month of solids and when she gets blocked up (at least once a week). Drs gave movicol now and it does really help and lots and lots of water. Also making sure there’s lots of fiber in meals, find lentils, chai seeds some other beans and veg really help keep things moving.
Just came here to say prune puree in porridge also! About a quarter of a pouch has helped my boy each day. When we started solids he was going a week without pooing and then it was all coming out and he was going all day crying and screaming when pooing! We’ve got water intake up and now I do the prune puree every other day and his bowel movements are a lot more regular and not painful for him!
I soak a teaspoon of chia seeds in his yoghurt everyday and that seems to help my LO
Thanks for the tip on chia seeds. Will try that. I also think bananas can cause constipation, and sweet potato too.
How comes cutting out bananas? Mines been constipated since before solids. Drinking more water gas really helped
