a lot of protein!
I was unable to lose weight while breastfeeding. The amt I had to eat to keep up my milk supply was unhealthy for me.
I really love food and I’m not willing to cut out my favs so I just did intermittent fasting, 16-8 method so a 16 hour fast from like 6pm- 9am which just puts your body in catabolic phase longer and helps cut out night snacking. That mixed with some light or moderate workouts even just daily walks always gets me right lol. I’m also able to do this healthily while BF and maintaining my supply as long as I drink lots of water :)
Hey! I'm a CPT & CNC, and I specialize in this! You need to do something that you can do long term. You need to enjoy it. That is how you help lose the weight and keep it off. Start by just monitoring what you do for a week but don't change anything. Keep track of your food (myfitnesspal is great for this) and if you can get a watch with a step counter, see what your average daily count is. Make small changes first- drink more water, park farther away or if you're home a lot, try just walking around your house for a couple songs worth every hour or so, go outside and walk in the morning for 10 minutes and another short walk in the afternoon or evening. Strength training will improve your overall body composition and help you burn more calories since muscle consumes calories to function. Increase protein. I wouldn't worry about doing any special diets or eating strategies when you first start out. It over complicates things and you want to make this as easy on yourself as possible.
@Autumn I was going to ask how that works either BF but I guess your eating one big meal and snacks within your eating and that’s why your still able to produce milk
Thank you @Jessica I do have the app as well as the watch I’m trying to aim for 10k steps a day I am home a lot thanks so much for your tips!
10k steps a day and watching portion sizes. Eat 2000 calories or less. I eat 1300-1800 also breastfeeding. If you wanna go to the gym do cardio and the machines. For me that’s easier than dumbell workouts. Doing this got me from 270 to 210 in 3 months (thats how much i gained during pregnancy so idk if that counts) my goal for 2025 is 180-190 and 2026 is 150-160
You should count macros. Prioritize protein, carbs and healthy fats. I did a 4 week challenge with this girl from ig and she gives you home workouts or gym workouts and meal plans and teaches you how to count macros. Learned a lot and lost 25 lbs continuing her plan after the 4 weeks. Her if @ is jordanke if you’re interested. She also had two kids so it’s nice she understands pp.
@Jessica Thanks for this!!!!
That's a great goal and just be kind to yourself ❤️ if you have any more questions that I can help you with, just reach out!
@Ali I do have a treadmill and a bike at home so I’ll definitely do more of that! Thank you so much for all your help everyone!
@Hancel that diet is hard on the kidneys
I'd say call ur insurance and see if they cover a dietician. I had such luck working with one. Did telemed too
@Jade if you read all the research. It is not, it is actually the best diet to be on.

@Hancel it may be the best diet according to some limited research or a few dieticians but it’s absolutely not the case that it’s the best diet for humans, especially long term. The most comprehensive data we have on the best diet for humans consistently points to more of a Mediterranean style diet, focused on plant based foods and healthy fats.
@Hancel especially when you factor in sustainability, but if you want to solely learn more about just the healthiness of different diets, “the china study” is the most comprehensive study we have worldwide so far, it’s a 20-year collaboration between Cornell University, Oxford University, and the Chinese Academy of Preventative Medicine and examines the relationship between diet and disease risk and health outcomes
The most successful weight loss I did was 35lb in 6.5 months by following a meal plan. I wasn’t working out at the time due to a hip injury. I chose something that I could do long-term that also helped me think differently about food. I found that tastes change…I had a big sweet tooth and lost it as I ate more balanced (definitely still ate some sweets tho) and lately I haven’t followed my plan well and sweet tooth is back. I found focusing on what I eat works better than working out, I could work out enough to lose weight. I will say now I’m focusing on rebalancing what I eat after baby was born and not on weight loss though, if it happens it happens. I’m also breastfeeding. I haven’t gained or lost since giving birth
Try the carnivore diet
