Signs of crawling

Can signs of wanting to crawl happen before 5 months?? She’s 5 months in about 2 weeks, but all week she has been trying to put her knees underneath herself and has managed to push herself forward a few times. But surely she is too young for this??

My little boy is doing the same thing, they all progress at there own rate and if shes is trying to figure it out herself i would let her, i am doing that and still encouraging lots to tummy time as it helps strengthen there back and tummy

My little one is 5 months on Sunday, he’s been doing the same for probably the last month or so. I absolutely believe he’ll be crawling before he’s 6 months old. I’ve found that babies generally like to defy what’s considered “normal” for their milestones, whether it be earlier or later for certain things. My son started rolling over during tummy time before he was 2 months old and in the last couple of weeks started rolling back to front, he got his first teeth at 3.5 months and is already started to sit up unaided. It’s important to remember that babies do everything on their own timeline, so while it’s considered early for her to be trying to crawl, it’s not completely unheard of.

My little one has also been trying. He nearly did once but I think it was by accident. At the moment he slides around the living room floor on the back of his head and his bum so we've had to set up the playpen as he is magnetically drawn to the armchair and he can get around alot faster than you would think

My first did this and didn't crawl until nearly 11m 😂 I think it's like Braxton Hicks. You convince yourself it means something

@Anna my first learned to crawl at 9 months and 2 months later he was walking so I am hoping she still takes her time to crawl 😅 but my first was a preemie so I’m used to babies being non moving for longer
