The raisin out of the water bottle is just an example for you to check that they try to get an object out of a see through object not that they can actually get it out of the bottle, it could be anything x
@Patricia i don’t even think there’s a problem or she’s behind but the questionnaire is making me double think. like she’s 9 months and crawling since like 7 months, she pulls herself to stand and walks along the sofa but i feel like a lot of that sort of stuff isn’t included x
@Ella ahhh that makes sense i was like ‘when is a child ever going to come into contact with a water bottle with a rasin in it’😂😂
@Sophie I know with no context it does seem very odd🤣
I haven’t had any checklist, are you supposed to ask for this?
They’re all different my son wasn’t doing a lot of the questions at this age they’re not worried it’s the 2 year old check they look into things more they’re not interested walking:”/crawling etc as there is plenty of time for little ones to do this, they’re interested in pincer grip etc. My little girl can do them all and is independently walking they all do Everything physical like that at any age xx
@Rosie it should come through the post before your 10 month health visitor appointment, have u moved since baby was born, could’ve gone to the wrong address x
Oh I haven’t had mine come yet. Her appointment isn’t until 20th June though. How close to your appointment did you get yours?
@Liza my appointment is 12th may i got the letter about a month before i think x
@Sophie I don’t even think I’ve got an appointment! I haven’t moved so not sure what has happened there. I will contact health visitor to see if they’re planning on visiting!
@Rosie Different areas do the visits at different ages between 9 and 12 months. Where I live in Derbyshire they do them around 12 months old and should get the questionnaires a month before.
Do we get a 10month visit or is this for us to check ourselves? I’ve not been contacted by them in months
@Nikki ah that makes sense then as I’m in Derbyshire also !
@Sharon they should contact you between 10-12 months, it won’t be a home visit, you’ll have to go to your local clinic that’s on the letter they send, might be different to each area tho! i’m in suffolk so idk where you are but might be different x

@Rosie yes sorry should’ve been more specific i’m in suffolk so probably different down here lol x
@Sophie nah don’t worry about it, I’ve been messed around a bit by maternity/health services before as I gave birth in a different county to the one I live in so the communication isn’t always great. Hence my paranoia that I’m missing something 🤣
Every area so different. In Northern Ireland we have a home visit between 6-9 months, ours was at 7.5 months and no questionnaire
I just had my HV visit and I asked about the questionnaire. She said that they aren't doing it anymore because when the scores are low, it makes parents anxious and babies hit milestones at different times. She just had some checklists that were quite simple and nothing like the questionnaire. I'm in Bristol so it is different to other regions.
@julie they're definitely still doing the questionnaire in most places. We've been sent it.
@Emmo that's my understanding too so I was pleasantly surprised that ours no longer does it.
@Sophie I’m in Suffolk too, which clinic did they send you to? X
@Anna i’m in ipswich so they sent me to chantry library x
I'm sure these tests are just there to stress us out. None of my kids ever met their milestones for these tests but HV didn't even care. I had to literally request a new HV and then demand for my now 4 years old to be referred to speech and language at 3. And that's when she finally started talking. Go with your guts. If you feel there's a problem tell them and push for it to be investigated. If there's nothing just go with it. Every child develops different x
