Nappy Rash in breastfed baby… any advice x

My little one has had persistent nappy rash for 2-3 weeks. Small, broken circular areas that look like moisture damage. She is breast fed so is constantly sharting/pooing. Sometimes she even poops when she sneezes 🤣🤣 doesn’t seem to bother her but it’s really bothering me 😩. I’ve tried sudocreme, bepanthen, aveeno, weleda and Superdrug’s nappy cream. We’ve had timodine cream from the doctors and now canesten but nothing seems to make it any better. I do nappy free time of and evening before bed, she has a bath every other day and I’m changing her every two hours… I don’t know what else I can do 😩☹️

Mines the same, was really red and sore looking and just wouldn’t shift, we’ve been using metanium and sudocreme and it’s only just starting to shift and he’s 3 weeks.. we try and change every time we notice anything even if it’s only been half an hour since the last change.. could it be nappies? We found the Tesco ones seemed to make it worse but been getting better since being on mamia

Also, water and cotton balls helps

the only thing we haven’t tried is changing the nappies, we’ve used a selection since she was born but now use mostly mamia! I feel like it’s just not gonna get better until she starts pooping less. I’ve changed her 3 times in the past hour 😩xx

Where do you get your metanium!? I was gutted when they discontinued it, the canesten from the gp you can’t put barrier cream on the top of it either like the timodine 😩 xx

I’ve been using Vaseline as a barrier and it’s cleared my little girls up after a few days! Tried using sudocrem first as that worked with my first baby but wasn’t touching it with this baby xx

I don't know what nappies you're using but I'd maybe look at changing the nappies to non toxic ones where they have no bleach, chemicals added to them.

My midwife suggested dabbing breast milk on the rash and it’s working.

Maybe try adding breastmilk to some coconut oil to make your own nappy cream? I've heard it helps xx

The pharmacy, although it’s not the magical yellow metanium which I swore by with my first, it’s called metanium everyday, and it’s the only barrier cream that’s working for us 😊

Thanks everyone. I’ll have to try the breast milk… the GP said to put the canesten on everytime you have to wipe it off so I’ve been putting it on every nappy change and it’s getting worse… it looks so sore I could cry 😩😩😩
