Listeria risk

Hello, I’m 23 weeks and just realised a cheese I fairly regularly eat (Pecorino) is unpasteurised and having a bit of a panic about listeria/listeriosis.

I can’t pinpoint feeling ill at any point during the pregnancy that would suggest listeriosis but I’ve read symptoms can be mild and self resolve while still harming the development of the baby.

Any advice or is there someone knowledgable on this topic that can advise?

(I have contacted my midwife but still having a slight panic while waiting on her response).

Hey I think pecorino is safe to eat. According to the internet because the water content is low, listeria can’t really grow, so it’s safe. Same with Parmesan cheese (Baby Centre UK). I hole you get the same reassurance from your midwife 🤞
