First birthday planning

I haven’t started and feel so behind. I don’t know where to start. I haven’t been to kids birthday party in a long time. What are fun activities these days? What are you all planning? Theme? Budget? We have a decent sized yard but it’s also during the hottest month in the summer. Is renting a place better? Help this mama out!

Easy questions Who to invite? Where to hold it? What to eat? You can do your own backyard and get a canopy for 50$ most places to rent are at least 200$. I base the theme off what my kid like where it’s a character or a tv show or movie or something they are named after. Fun activities could be bozo buckets or water games or bubbles

Do u have a community pool? I'm thinking of doing a pool party

Don’t stress. Little one won’t care about it or remember their party. First birthday parties are more for the parents than anything. Personally we will be celebrating at home with immediate family and a cake. My guy gets stressed around lots of people and hates being passed around. That being said, if you want a party Pinterest is where I get all my ideas!!

I had a backyard splash party for my older one’s 1st bday with the theme “Cutest 1 under the sun.” An inflatable tub with water slide, a splash table and some bubbles, and my toddler was very happy. Had a small guest list. It was a small, cozy event!😀

There’s no wrong way to party. You can do whatever is best for your family. Think about whom you’re inviting first and from there you can decide what activities they would enjoy and a convenient location for everyone. For my first baby, we celebrated at the house just us. It turned out well that we didn’t invite people because she was sick that day. We are planning a joint birthday party for her and our July baby because their days are so close together and we are inviting family this time. It’s just a casual get together at the house.

I'm not planning activities. He'll be one and trying to get him to do an activity intentionally with a group of people sounds like an actual nightmare. Right now there are only two other kids, my nephews, unless we invite friends with older kids (haven't decided on that yet). They will be fine with some toys or going to the park across the street. My budget is almost entirely food. I'm doing 'One for the books' and using storybooks he already has to match with the food. We're doing it at our house. I'm a July baby myself and I never had a party anywhere but home it was never a problem. I'm not worried about this party. As long as he can look back on a picture of himself smashing cake, I think we'll be fine. Lol
